Not the idea of people. Not the polished, posed, stiff version. The real version — the one that shows up when someone relaxes, laughs, or just forgets the camera is there for a second.

I'm Matt Draper. I've been making portraits for over 15 years — in studios, on streets, in vintage shops, in whatever space feels right for the person in front of me. My work tends toward the editorial. I like variety, spontaneity, and images that feel like they belong in a magazine rather than on a wall.

I work with actors who need headshots that get them in the room — cinematic, character-driven, built around range and castability. I work with executives, founders, and entrepreneurs who need portraits that match where they're headed. Musicians, artists, authors, and creatives who want images with presence and personality. Corporate teams who need consistent, polished photos that don't feel like DMV portraits.

Draper Studios is based in Downtown Denver. My studio is a calm, well-lit space where most sessions happen — but I'm just as comfortable on location, whether that's your office, a Denver rooftop, a coffee shop that means something to you, or anywhere else that fits the story.

I've photographed individuals, small teams, and corporate groups. I've done first-ever headshots for brand new actors and full editorial shoots for established professionals. The process is always the same: relaxed, collaborative, and built around getting you something you're genuinely proud of.

Who I work with

Actors, executives, founders, entrepreneurs, musicians, artists, authors, creatives, and other public-facing professionals. Individuals, small teams, and corporate groups. Adults building a professional or creative presence.

I don't photograph families with young children, newborns, or maternity sessions. Everything else, I'm open to the right project.
