Behind the Scenes of a Personal Branding Photoshoot in Downtown Denver

Welcome to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at a personal branding photoshoot in the vibrant heart of Downtown Denver, specifically around the iconic Union Station. If you're curious about what goes into creating stunning personal branding images, this blog post and accompanying video will give you an insider's view of the process.

The Location: Union Station, Downtown Denver

Union Station, with its historic charm and modern amenities, served as the perfect backdrop for our photoshoot. This location offers a blend of classic architecture and contemporary vibes, making it an ideal setting for capturing professional yet approachable personal branding images. The bustling atmosphere adds energy and dynamism to the photos, creating a narrative that speaks to both the heritage and the future.

Preparation: Setting the Scene

Before the shoot, meticulous planning is essential. We started by scouting various spots around Union Station that would provide diverse and compelling backgrounds. The goal was to find locations that highlight the subject's personality and professional identity, while also utilizing the unique elements of the area, such as the grand arches, beautiful interior, and the lively outdoor spaces.

The Shoot: Capturing the Essence

On the day of the shoot, we arrived early to take advantage of the morning light, which is soft and flattering. Our subject, Airika, dressed in a combination of formal and semi-casual outfits to reflect different aspects of her personal brand.

We began with some shots about a block from the station, and then moved towards Union Station, using its majestic façade as a powerful backdrop. The play of light and shadows added depth to the images, giving them a timeless quality. Moving inside, we captured Airika in the elegant interior spaces, using the natural light streaming through the large windows to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Behind the Camera: Technical Aspects

For this shoot, we utilized beautiful, solft natural light to ensure consistent quality across different settings. I shoot with both Canon and Fuji cameras, and in this case shot with the Fuji XT-5, using two beautiful lenses: the Viltrox 75mm 1.2 and the unbeatable Fuji 33mm 1.4. These provided the ability to capture super soft headshots and half and full body shots.

Throughout the shoot, we focused on creating a relaxed and enjoyable environment. This approach helps the subject feel comfortable and confident, which is crucial for capturing authentic expressions and natural poses. We also encouraged Airika to interact with the surroundings, whether it was walking, sitting, or engaging with props, to add a dynamic element to the photos.

The Result: A Cohesive Visual Story

The final images from the shoot at Union Station are a testament to the power of thoughtful planning and creative execution. Each photo tells a part of Airika’s story, showcasing their professionalism, creativity, and approachability. These images will be used across various platforms, from social media to professional websites, helping to build a strong and cohesive personal brand.
